xifix2base rocking-chair-one

Design by Juergen Josef Goetzmann

The xifix2base rocking-chair-one is a unique and innovative design that reimagines the traditional rocking chair. With its sleek and minimalist design, this chair combines form and function to create a comfortable and stylish seating option for any space.

The inspiration for this design came from the desire to create a seating furniture collection with a new rack-system. Designer Juergen Josef Goetzmann aimed to develop a chair that was slim, comfortable, and cozy, with armrests. The goal was to create a chair that was harmonious from all sides, including from below, and without any corners.

What sets the xifix2base rocking-chair-one apart from other rocking chairs is its unique rack-design. The chair is based on the required minimum of physics and material, realized by one endless pipe. The stability of the chair is achieved through its loop form, eliminating the need for additional constructions and connections. The absence of corners gives the chair a sense of fluidity and harmony.

In terms of construction, the xifix2base rocking-chair-one is made from classic and lasting materials - metal and leather. The back and seat form one piece, adapting to the curves of the rack. The armrests are simple and without any additional construction. The ergonomics of the chair have been carefully designed to fit the physiognomy of an average person. The chair stands safely on two curves and has a rollover bar in the back.

With dimensions of 1170 mm x 1080 mm x 780 mm, the xifix2base rocking-chair-one is a statement piece that combines style and functionality. The chair's design is characterized by its slim profile and the use of a single pipe, which is 3 cm in diameter. This prototype showcases the designer's vision and attention to detail.

The xifix2base rocking-chair-one is intended for relaxing areas such as living rooms. Its light and minimalistic design make it a perfect addition to any modern interior. The chair's one-pipe construction is immediately visible, showcasing its unique and innovative design.

The xifix2base rocking-chair-one project started in December 2012 in Karlsruhe, Germany and was completed in May 2013. While it has not been published yet, this design has already received recognition for its creativity and ingenuity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2014. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements.

The xifix2base rocking-chair-one is a testament to the power of innovative design and the ability to create something truly unique and functional. With its harmonious curves and minimalist aesthetic, this chair is sure to make a statement in any space.
